India March for Science – Kolkata, West Bengal
India March for Science Kolkata organizing committee took out a march from College Square to Esplanade on Aug 16. Students, teachers, scientists and science loving people turned up in large numbers daring heavy rains. Before the March, a short public meeting was held at the College Square in which Prof Dhruba Mukhopadhyay, President of BSS and former Professor of Calcutta University, Prof Partha P Majumder, former Director of National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, Prof Chandrasekhar Chakraborty, former VC, West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences, Prof Soumitro Banerjee, General Secretary of BSS and Professor, IISER Kolkata spoke. At Esplanade, the rally concluded with the address of Prof Ayan Banerjee of IISER Kolkata and other leading members of IMFS Kolkata organizing committee.
India March for Science – Siliguri, WB At Siliguri, the Northern city of West Bengal, a rally was held from Baghajatin Park on Aug 16. Research scholars, students, teachers and science loving people joined the IMFS rally. The possession created deep impact on the city dwellers.
